Endorse Our Campaign to Ensure that Families with Children Do Not Have to Sleep in Places Not Meant for Human Habitation!

Please complete this form to have your organization officially endorse the campaign to finally eliminate state policy that requires many families experiencing homelessness to first stay in places not meant for human habitation before qualifying for Emergency Assistance (EA) family shelter through the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

We are seeking to include language in the Emergency Assistance line item (7004-0101) via the FY'17 supplemental budget and FY'18 initial budget, as well as to pass House Bill 659, An Act to protect families experiencing homelessness from having to sleep in unsafe places, filed by Representative Marjorie Decker.

The current budget campaign fact sheet is on this page: http://www.mahomeless.org/advocacy/present-policy-campaigns
Complete bill language is here: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/190/H659.
