COVID-19 has hit cities particularly hard, exposing key challenges faced by them. Through a discussion with civil society organizations, academics and local governments we aim to identify paths provided by the Right to the City for implementing SDG11 and the NUA beyond COVID-19.
The event will focus on concrete initiatives, under a balanced regional perspective, that have emerged from both governments and civil society to address these issues under the context of the COVID-19 pandemic but building pathways for long-term transformation. The presentation will be divided in three thematic blocks:
a) Gender equality and diversity
b) Social protection and informal economy
c) Right to the City and fight against racism and discrimination
The event will be held in english with simultaneous translation to spanish.
