"Common Wealth" is a solo exhibition of work by

ZYNKA Gallery from June 8 to July 20, 2024.
The show will explore our allegiances and how we express them. Familiar flags and emblems that visually signal our affiliations, beliefs, and values are steeped in patriotic or male-centric views that divide us by artificial borders and presume our rights to ownership of nature. Ashley's work exchanges stars and stripes for a new aesthetic that puts women and nature at the forefront of our pledge of allegiance.
During the show, there will be a participatory artwork that asks gallery visitors,
To whom or what do you pledge your allegiance? Responses will be collected like ballots and incorporated into the exhibit. If you are not able to see the show in-person, but would like to contribute, take the "poll of allegiance" below.
Note: No one's name will be included in the artwork or otherwise shared, only the "pledges."
