House & Imagination Theater: Perform at the Chopin Theatre!
Teen Arts Pass (a program of Urban Gateways) is proud to present TAP’d In, a series of opportunities for anyone 13-19 to have a deeper experience with an art form beyond seeing TAP-eligible shows. For 2019, these experiences are focused on the theatre arts as part of the 2019 Year of Chicago Theatre. The program is supported by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
Teens will participate in a two-hour workshop to create and devise their own scenes and monologues based on the themes from The House Theater's The Nutcracker: longing and loss. They will work with actor educators from Imagination Theater to create their own pieces to showcase on stage at the Chopin Theater stage for friends and family, before seeing the professional performance of The Nutcracker.
