Skagit River Kahn Conservation Area lies east of Rockport along the Skagit River and on the south side of Hwy 20 directly across from Cascadian Farm Stand. Help Skagit Land Trust celebrate Festival of Family Farms by planting trees and removing blackberry. Cascadian Farm is a stop on the Festival Route and will offer a pumpkin patch and hay rides along with other activities, so after helping us plant trees, take advantage of all of the fall fun!
SLT will provide tools, gloves, and refreshments. Please make sure you wear clothing appropriate for the weather. The site may be quite sandy/muddy (especially once we start working with the plants!), so please wear rubber boots or contact our Stewardship Americorps member at
meaganm@skagitlandtrust.org to arrange to borrow a pair from SLT for the event.
Directions: Follow Highway 20 east towards Rockport. The property is 3 miles east of Rockport and parking is available at the Farm Stand. If you are heading upvalley for this event, consider carpooling! Volunteers interested in carpooling can meet up near the northeast corner of the parking lot in front of the Food Pavillion in Sedro-Woolley by 9:10 AM. Please note, once you park at Cascadian Farms, you must cross the highway to reach the work site. We will gather and cross in small groups.
