Shabbat Gathering Before #FamiliesBelongTogether Protest
Saturday | June 30th | 9:30 am
AFL-CIO | 815 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20005

On World Refugee Day, President Trump signed an executive order replacing the policy of tearing families apart with the policy of detaining them indefinitely. Transitioning from one cruel and inhumane policy to another cannot be the solution here. Children do not belong in prison.

On Saturday, June 30th, activists from around the country are heading to the White House to demand that President Trump immediately reverse his administration's “zero-tolerance” policy and end the separation and detention of families.

If it is consistent with your Shabbat practice, join HIAS, National Council of Jewish Women, T'ruah, Jews United for Justice, and Bend the Arc for a brief Shabbat service with words and songs of inspiration before we head over to the protest.

Demonstrators are encouraged to wear white to make a strong visual statement of love, unity and freedom.
