OATFACS Award Nominations
Please take a few moments and nominate your fellow FCS Teachers for awards in the following categories. All I need is a name and a reason why they deserve the award.
1. My nominee for Ambassador Award and why. The purpose of this award is to recognize educators who have made the highest meritorious contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of Career and Technical Education.
2. My nominee for New Teacher of the Year Award and why. The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers who are providing outstanding career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in their respective fields and communities. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote career and technical education. *
3. My nominee for Outstanding Career and Technical Educator and why. The purpose of this award is to recognize career and technical educators, other than full-time classroom/laboratory teachers, who have recently provided or are currently providing significant contributions to professional associations and career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in their career fields, communities and/or states. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs; and/or improvement, promotion, research or development of programs related to career and technical education.
4. My nominee for Outstanding NEW Career and Technical Educator and why. This award is meant to encourage new teachers to remain in the profession. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs and have shown a professional commitment early in their careers.
5. My nominee for Outstanding Professional in Community Service Award and why. The purpose of this award is to recognize educators with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community involvement. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward training, motivating, and inspiring their peers and students to become involved in programs and projects that benefit their communities. *
6. My nominee for Image Award and why. The Image Award recognizes individuals who have brought positive attention to the career-technical and adult education fields, thereby enhancing the image of career-technical and adult education and career and technical educators. (Non-educators are eligible.)
7. My nominee for Distinguished Service Award is and why. The purpose of the Distinguished Service Award is to encourage and recognize superior teaching and/or other professional commitment within each Division of Ohio ACTE. These Awards are presented to individuals in each division who have made the highest contributions to improvement promotion, development and progress of career technical and adult education. Each Division selects its Distinguished Service Award recipient.
8. My nominee for Champion for Family and Consumer Sciences is and why. To recognize a person (nonmember), business, company, government (local, state, federal) or community-based agency or a representative there of (outside the FACS profession), who has exemplified extraordinary support and concern for Family and Consumer Sciences and NATFACS.
9. My nominee for Award of Merit is and why. To recognize a member* (must have been a member of ACTE and NATFACS for a minimum of 10 years) who has made significant contribution to Family and Consumer Sciences, and/or ACTE, and/or NATFACS who is considered to be an outstanding leader in the field.
10. My nominee for Pride Award is and why. To recognize a member* (ACTE and NATFACS) who is a Family and Consumer Sciences Education classroom teacher for outstanding marketing endeavors and promotional ideas for the continued development and enhancement of Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
