We foster soil education
through the CURIOSOIL project. Our aim is to cultivate a more soil-literate society through education.
One of our mission is to facilitate a Community of Practice (CoP) (https://communitiesforfuture.org/curiosoil-cop-call). The
CURIOSOIL CoP is a platform for stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to come together and contribute to the development, piloting and implementation of soil education initiatives. Led by ECOLISE, the CoP coordinates efforts across multiple countries, bringing together relevant experts and organizations to achieve common objectives. We are strengthening the team of CoP leaders in the following countries:
- Austria,
- Romania,
- Ukraine
In this context, we are recruiting a CoP leader for each country, with the role running from November 2025 to February 2028.
The application deadline is 5/10/2025 end of day.
Objectives of the CoP:- Identify and Collect Information: Assist CURIOSOIL partners in identifying existing non-formal soil educational initiatives in each country.
- Implement Piloting Process: Support the piloting of educational materials and the Soil Curiosity Kit, developed by Curiosoil partners, in educational settings.
- Facilitate Further Piloting and Dissemination: Help in the piloting, demonstration, and dissemination of the Soil Curiosity Kit outside formal educational settings.
Objectives of the CoP leaders:- One CoP leader per country.
- Actively linking CURIOSOIL project activities with the national CoP (sharing engagement opportunities, relaying information, gathering feedback).
- Regularly organise national CoP online collaborative knowledge-sharing with ECOLISE’s support.
- Proofread translated materials in your country’s language.
Leaders will be financially supported for up to 6000€ over ~2 years, alongside various perks of CURIOSOIL (supported travel for CURIOSOIL events participation for instance).Why should you apply?Applying to become a CoP leader in your own country offers a unique opportunity to shape soil education and sustainability initiatives on a local level. Criteria Mandatory:- To be connected to a Soil Education or Soil Restoration initiative.
- To have a record of Community management and facilitation.
- To have the capacity to organise and facilitate online meetings.
- To speak English (for CURIOSOIL project collaboration) and the language of your country (for local CoP facilitation).
Preferable Criteria:
- Experience in other CoPs related to soil or other environmental topics.
- Understanding of Soil Policy and Regulatory Frameworks.
- Ability to organize in-person Soil Education events.
FAQ:- What is the duration of the commitment and the expected workload?
The commitment runs from November 2025 to February 2028, with an expected workload of 10 hours per month.
- How is the funding transferred to the CoP leader?
You will invoice for the financial support, 3 invoices of 3000€ each (one in January 2027, and one in January 2028). For a total of 6000€.
- Is travel for CURIOSOIL events reimbursed?
Yes, travel expenses for CURIOSOIL events will be reimbursed, based on expense reports, within the limits of the event’s specific budget (around €3,000 per CoP leader for the period of 2025-2028).
- Can the responsibility be shared among multiple individuals?
We are looking for one person to serve as the primary point of contact with the CURIOSOIL project. However, this person may have a team or collaborators. Please submit a single application for the responsible individual, specifying the setup.
