Lawrence Public Schools, USD 497 District Site Council
The Kansas State Department of Education's Kansas Educational Systems Accreditation (KESA) process requires that each school district create a District Site Council with representation of the district's various demographics and stakeholder groups, including staff, parents, community, and business/industry representatives.

The District Site Council provides input during the school improvement process by reviewing and providing input/feedback on the work of the district, such as a needs assessment, goal area selection, leadership goals and action plan development, evidence/data, and analysis of growth.
