***Are you in Grade 11 or Grade 12? Please PLAN TO AUDITION ON THE FIRST OR SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL***

Prepare a piece of music that showcases your vocal range and abilities. If possible, please bring sheet music and/or an instrumental track (with no vocals), to your audition.
Expect to sing some range check exercises to confirm your vocal type/placement. You will also be asked to do a few sing-backs. This is when the director plays or sings a few notes, and you are asked to sing them back.
Sight-singing. You will be given a short excerpt of music to sight-read. You will have a bit of time to work it through, and you will get the starting pitch. Many students struggle with sight-singing. It's OK if you struggle with sight-reading. This part of the audition is to help Mrs. Ciona get to know your skills.

Auditions will take place in the VOCAL JAZZ PORTABLE to the south of the school, across the tarmac outside of the Music Room doors.

Please arrive ten minutes before your audition time. A warm-up space will be available.
