This conference will convene R&D leaders from industry to learn about the state of research in preventative medicine and to hear current academic thought leadership on themes such as nutrition, obesity, aging, cardiovascular disease, etc. It will also explore innovative technologies as applied to behavioral monitoring and modification in the promotion of a healthier lifestyle.
Suggested (but not limited to) themes:
• Technologies for behavior monitoring and modification toward adoption of a healthier lifestyle
• Promoting wellness within specific populations (e.g., elderly, women, children, etc.) and for those having chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease or dementia)
• Clinically-validated research on novel foodstuffs, natural products, exercise regimens or atypical non-drug therapeutics
• Other research related to preventative health and wellness
Judges will decide the best posters based on their originality and relevance, potential for impact on the field, and clarity of presentation. Author of best poster will receive a $1,000 prize.
Researchers from MIT and other academic, healthcare or corporate research institutions in the Boston area. The program organizers reserve the right to limit entries due to space restrictions, relevance or other concerns. Only those submissions selected by the organizers in advance will be accepted for presentation.
All abstracts must be submitted online by Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:59pm (*** EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 4th ***). Poster viewing and judging will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2013 in Building E15 (Media Lab). Further details will be provided to contestants whose entries are pre-selected for the competition and notified by email.
