#ManUpPHL is an anti-gun violence movement founded by radio host Solomon Jones. Our goal is to step into the lives of black men who are statistically most likely to be victims or perpetrators of gun violence. Our tech officer is Joel Wilson. Learn more at ManUpPHL.org.

#ManUpPHL (www.ManUpPHL.org) is a needed response to the Gun Violence Culture in Philadelphia which now is killing our children almost one per week. (https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/john-conyers-black-men-reparations-gun-violence-20191029.html).

Check out Solomon Jones interview of Joel Wilson of 100 Black Men, Stanley Crawford of Black Male Community Council of Philadelphia and Michael Smokey Wilson of LESSONS talk to Solomon Jones about why their organizations are involved. (https://soundcloud.com/solomon-jones-10/manupphl-on-classiox-1079-fm)

We will serve as a referral connection to participants who sign up 17 years of age or younger, and a Peer Mentor group for men ages 18 and up.

The five (5) key areas we are organizing around for the young men 18+ are:

1. Financial consultation
2. Employment resources
3. Education resources (GED’s, tutoring, training programs)
4. Criminal justice
5. Family/ parenting

Please complete the below form if You Need Help or You Can Help in this collaborative effort to help our boys and young men starve off the Gun Violence Culture by creating opportunities.
