Conservation of Chocoan Bushmasters depends on protecting its habitat and initiating conservation programs that account for human-snake interactions. However, little information about the species’ ecology and behavior is available from wild populations, thereby compromising effective conservation and creating an urgent need to collect data on its natural history and conservation status. Therefore, we have initiated the Project Coexistng with the Bushmaster with plans in the first year to 1) evaluate its ecology and reproductive behavior by radio-tracking 5 snakes and 2) create capacity within local communities for involvement in snake conservation.
Your contribution will help us continue with our project to protect and study the amazing Bushmaster snake, we don't have too much time as the Chocoan Bushmaster is endangered.
