ILATSA STUDENT POSTER SESSION – GUIDELINES

ILATSA invites current students to submit to present a poster session on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

*****Accepted poster presenters will receive free registration to the conference on Wednesday. *****

ILATSA invites academic poster presentations regarding issues relevant to forensic treatment, assessment or containment, with a special interest in issues relevant to sex offender treatment or containment.

Time: The ILATSA poster session will be held starting during the lunch hour on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the Academic Professional Center at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Please plan to set up your poster at the beginning of the lunch hour and to be present as much as possible at your poster during the lunch and breaks between sessions. We anticipate that this will be an ideal time for attendees to view the posters and talk with you about your research. You are also encouraged to use some of the poster session time to visit the other posters in the session.

Space: ILATSA will provide easels for displaying the posters. Presenters will be assigned a designated easel.
Material: It is recommended that the poster is mounted on to material that will stand up on the easel. Please be sure to include your name, affiliation, and email address on your poster.

Content: Your poster should be self-explanatory, freeing you from answering obvious questions so that you are available to supplement and discuss particular points of interest. Will a casual observer understand your major findings after a quick perusal of your material? Will a careful reader learn enough to ask informed questions? Ask yourself, “What would I need to know if I were viewing this material for the first time?”

Clarity: Is the sequence of information evident? Indicate the ordering of your material with numbers, letters, or arrows. Put your major points in the poster; save non-essential sidelights for informal discussion or handouts.
