As you think about what you need to continue on your journey towards making Comprehensible Input 90% of all you do in class - please explain your specific needs. How could the content at next year's conference encourage you on this journey?
List specific things that you found helpful, good, about this year's conference?
Please help us improve the conference by suggesting the ways the conference could better meet your needs or the needs of teachers in general
Conference Format: Bringing in multiple presenters offers greater choice/variety great but increases the cost of offering the conference significantly. In the early days one person presented for the entire two days. Could you please offer feedback on your preference? I If you suggest multiple presenters, how much might you be able/willing to pay for the two day conference? (I looked at the cost of other workshops and could not find one under $300 for a two day conference - AND they hardly EVER include food)
This year registrations were received up to the week OF the conference. The early bird price does not seem to be working to get people to register early. What ideas might you have to encourage people to register in May -June of the conference year and not wait until the week of the conference?
Please suggest names of presenters that you would like us to bring in next year. We will probably consider those that are mentioned most - either below or in the next question.
For those of you who prefer to select from a list - here it is (but it is does not list everyone) Mark all those that you would really like to have with us next year.
Carol Gaab -
Van Patten - Theory
Karshen - theory
Laurie Clarcq -everything
Craig Sheehy - general TCI strategies
Mira Canion - reading with novels
Jason Fritze - elementary
Linda Li (very expensive to pay her travel from India to Maine)
Joseph Dziedzic - If Joe came I would have him do language labs with real students)
Diana Noonan (Curriculum Development k-12
Bryce Hedstrom - everything
I have been wondering about doing a "teaching lab" focus where Master TCI teachers would teach a group of real students for the two days. Conference attendees would observe. This would be tough logistically, but If I could pull it off would it be something that would interest you and something that you would find beneficial?
At this moment please rate your likelihood of attending the 2017 TCI Maine conference. This will help us plan and hopefully avoid the situation we found ourselves in this year of many fewer registrations than expected. (1 = I cannot attend to 10 = I am absolutely there - nothing would keep me away.)
What other input for improvements to the conference next Year?
