[Call for Proposals] Game Happens 2019

Hello!
Game Happens is the international festival in Italy where game design looks beyond its own boundaries. The fifth edition will return to Genova (Italy) on November 8>10, 2019. This year's theme is "Elements of Change".

We are looking for innovative projects and different points of view that will help us explore and discuss concepts such as narrative, diversity, ethics, critique; we particularly encourage new and emerging topics.

For our EXHIBITION AREA, we are open to the following kinds of project:
- digital games
- board games
- pervasive games
- mixed-media games
- mixed-media performances
- VR & AR experiences
- alternative controller games
- interactive installations

For our CONFERENCE PROGRAMME, we are open to the following kinds of contribution:
- case study (8 minutes)
- inspirational talk (15 minutes)
- lecture (20 minutes)

You will need to fill out this form thoroughly: incomplete applications will not be taken in consideration.
Each participant (or team) can submit one or more projects. After completing the application, check your inbox (or spam folder) for a confirmation email.

Game Happens 2019 is an event organised by Regione Liguria, through its in house company Liguria International, with the support of the Cultural Association Game Happens, and financed by the POR FESR Liguria 2014-2020. In collaboration with Società per Cornigliano.

Important Dates
Deadline for submissions is June 16th, 2019 (h. 23:59 CET)

Participants will be notified via email by July 15th whether or not they have been selected.

Theme: "Elements of Change"
This year's theme is "Elements of Change". It's not mandatory, but please keep in mind that our conference programme and our exhibition area are both curated and we will select talks and projects that can work well with the theme. Entries will be selected by Game Happens curatorial team.
Disclaimer
Unfortunately we are not able to cover everyone's travel expenses, but we will provide a list of suggested accommodation and couchsurfing opportunities. If you live outside Italy and you are an independent team, you can apply for a small contribution.

We will provide you with all the hardware you may need (pc, screen, mouse, keyboard, headphones) and we won't charge you for the exhibition booth. However, we will ask for a voluntary donation. Thank you.
