1. Total New Member dues are $225 ($200 for dues and $25 course fee). Payment can be mailed to Junior League Headquarters at: Junior League of Asheville, PO Box 7315, Asheville, NC 28802 or paid online - choose the New Member Dues + New Member Class option. Deadline is August 11th.2. Attend information session prior to the beginning of the course and all New Member Course meetings. See Administrative Calendar for dates.3. Attend monthly JLA General Membership Meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month. See Administrative Calendar for dates.4. Attend one JLA Board of Directors Meeting.5. Attend one JLA Council Meeting (Personnel, Fund Development, Communications, or Community).6. Attend ONE of the following: School Board meeting (City or County), Asheville City Council meeting or Buncombe County Board of Commissioner’s meeting.7. Attend a Placement Interview at the end of the course to determine your committee placement preferences.8. Complete a minimum of five (5) hours of volunteer service at JLA-related volunteer events as set forth by the New Member Development Committee.9. Fundraise a minimum of $100 throughout the semester. We have one to two fundraising options each semester.
I understand the New Member requirements, dues, and course fees outlined above and upon my acceptance of prospective membership in the Junior League of Asheville, Inc., I understand that I am committing myself to the completion of these requirements. I understand that failure to complete any of the requirements may lead to my removal from prospective membership. I further understand that upon successful completion of the New Member Course and requirements, the New Member Development Committee will recommend to the Board of Directors that I become an Active member of the Junior League of Asheville, Inc.
