#FreeSeanWorsley Letter
Sean Worsley is a disabled U.S. Army veteran currently facing five years in prison in Alabama over charges stemming from the possession of medical cannabis. His case is an unfortunately common one where police and district attorneys use their discretion to arrest and prosecute people for victimless crimes, regardless of the circumstances. The fact that Sean is a Black American, taken prisoner in a state that arrests Black people for cannabis at 4x the rate of whites, is a reminder of the continuing history of racist enforcement of drug prohibition.
