Footlights Camera – Borrowing form
If you're putting on a comedy show in Cambridge and would like to record it or if you need to take headshots for a show, you can borrow a camera from the Footlights! Please fill out the form below with your name, email address, and some details about the show.
Once you've filled out the form, a member of the Footlights committee will get in touch to arrange picking up/ dropping off the camera. We strongly recommend that you fill in the form at least a few days before you'd like to use the camera (the earlier the better!), otherwise it might not be possible to get the camera to you!
The camera is available for non-comedy shows, but comedy shows will be given priority in the event of a clash.
Please be aware that many cameras are subject to an old piece of legislation limiting them to 30 minutes of continuous recording. Shows longer than 30mins may need somebody to stop and start the camera recording every 30 minutes in order to capture the full show, depending on which camera they borrow. Shows longer than 2 hours may need to use a "dummy battery" connected to a mains outlet so that the camera doesn't run out of power.
Cameras are expensive so please look after them! Cases/ bags will be provided, and please remember to place covers on the lenses and sensors to prevent damage when not in use.
As far as possible we'll try and set the cameras up beforehand so users can just point-and-shoot, but if you're ever unsure of anything then please do ask! At the end of the form, there is a space for you to ask any questions you may have, but you're more than welcome to email or ask on the day as well!
