Student
Safety & Backstage Management: These guidelines ensure a secure,
focused, and professional environment for all performers.
Backstage
Access Policy: To ensure the safety of all performers and maintain
focus backstage, only pre-approved volunteers and staff working
the current performance are permitted in the dressing and stage areas. This
policy helps us provide a secure environment for all students.
Check-In
and Release Procedures: All dancers must be checked in at the dancer check in table in the lobby 30 minutes prior to
the scheduled showtime.
Backstage Duration &
Release:
Preschool Classes: Dancers will be released to their
parents at intermission. After being checked out by a staff member, they are
welcome to join you in the audience for Act 2 or depart for home.
Kindergarten through 12th Grade: Dancers
in this group will remain backstage for the entire performance, including
intermission, and will participate in the final cast bows. This builds ensemble
spirit and ensures a professional closing to the show.
Electronic
Device Policy (Phones, Tablets, etc.)
We are implementing a strict no student phone usage policy
backstage.
We believe that focusing on the performance and interacting
with peers enhances the community spirit and overall
experience of being backstage together. Additionally, this policy is essential
for the privacy and safety of all dancers in changing areas.
If your student needs a phone for after the show, a secure
phone check-in station will be provided backstage.
In the event of an emergency, parents should contact any
staff member in the auditorium or lobby and they will connect you with the
correct adult backstage to relay any message to your dancer or bring your
student to you.
Early
Release Request
The show is designed to be a complete experience, running
approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes with final bows.
If your dancer in Kindergarten through 12th grade requires
an exception to leave before the final bows, you must complete an Early Release Request Form and have it signed by Miss Amy and placed on
file by Dec 11th. You will then have a signed copy to present when
picking up your dancer.
This pre-approval process is critical for keeping track of
the hundreds of students in our care.
Dancers granted an early release must leave the building
immediately after being checked out and may not remain in the
auditorium for the remainder of the performance.
