Project #FactCheckNigeria®
Audience Survey Questionnaire
Media Literacy & Countering Misinformation Project

Dear Respondent, the availability of mobile phones and internet has led to the spread of false information about the COVID 19 pandemic as well as the Vaccine which has led to an increase in COVID denial and shunning WHO precautions and treatments for the Virus. Unscientific claims have led to a spread of conspiracy theories and distrust for government initiatives to stop the spread of the virus.

This study aims to understand the population most susceptible to misinformation, their favourite media (online & radio), and their knowledge about how to detect and counter fake news and misinformation.

The results of the study shall be used to design a training programme, which will educate young Nigerians on the ways false information and misinformation are spread on social media channels and messaging apps.

Please note that there are no right or wrong answers to any of these questions, as no marks will be awarded. So be honest in responding to the questions. The responses will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
