What are Nano Grants?
The Nano Grant Program is brought to you by The Center for Great Neighborhoods (The Center) and made possible through generous support from The Kresge Foundation.
Nano Grants are $250, low-risk grants for individuals who live, work, or study in Covington and have a creative idea to bring people together, create a sense of place, and strengthen their community. Nano Grants serve as a vehicle to encourage experimentation, build leadership opportunities, and turn ideas into reality.
Who can apply?
Any individual who is a Covington resident, student or worker (works at least 15 hours/week in Covington) is eligible to apply for a Nano Grant. Individuals may only receive Nano Grant funding once per year.
What do we fund?
The Center is seeking new and creative projects that benefit the Covington community while bringing community members together.
Every project should contain at least one accessible element that is free to the public. Eligible projects should not exclude groups of people socially or politically and should align with the City of Covington’s human rights ordinance.
Projects should be well-planned, feasible, and able to be completed within three months of approval. Funding cannot be used for projects that are already completed or partially underway.
I applied for a Nano Grant, now what?
When you apply for a Nano Grant, a team at The Center reviews your application and will follow up with you with any questions and/or concerns. Applicants will receive notification of funding decisions within 10 days of application submission.
