SPECTRUM - INTRO TO VIDEO Grades 4, 5, & 6
Video is being integrated more and more into our lives in this day and age, and even more so in the future. From tv to movies, how-to videos, and YouTube vloggers, video has become ot only a source of entertainment but also an incredibly powerful tool for education. It is important to understand how something as ubiquitous as a video is produced. Through video, students can be curious explorers of their world, and imaginative storytellers sharing their stories with the worlk in a fun and entertaining medium.

This class is a simple ntroduction class designed to provide students with artistic, creative and historical back ground in the fields of video, broadcasting, and film production. With hands on experience in a studio, students will learn how to film and edit a short story.

Instructor: Hristina Tasheva, graduated in 2017 from Ithaca College with a degree in Cinema and Photography. Since graduating she has been working at Harvard Cable TV as the Video Production Coordinator. Hristina loves all thing photo and video and is excited to share her knowledge with the students!

Week 1: Introduction to Film
Week 2: Animation
Week 3: Animation continued
Week 4: The studio
Week 5: Filming! A mix of in studio and outside (weather permitting)
Week 6: Filming, Finish filming
Week 7: Editing, Intro to editing
Weeek 8: Screening! Watch the final video and talk about what we learned and liked

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Class sizes are limited. If a class is full we will contact you as soon as possible, generally within 2 business days to let you know. You may also wish to email jcavanaugh@psharvard.org to check on space availability.

A student will be placed on the class roster (space permitting) once both REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT have been received. An email reminder/confirmation will be sent generally 3-5 days prior to the start of the class.

Procedure to register for a class: FILL OUT THIS FORM AND

SEND IN A CHECK (within 24 hours) OR PAY ONLINE (electronic check) at the school’s ONLINE PAYMENT CENTER Unibank, link is on the Spectrum page (choose Community Education, Spectrum). (Note: Unibank charges a $.25 service fee for online check payments) IF you use the Online Payment option, you MUST email a copy of your payment receipt or your confirmation number to jcavanaugh@psharvard.org (we do not receive notification of payment from the bank). If you pay through Unibank and a class is cancelled, your refund will be sent by check processed through the Town Warrant (3-4 weeks).

Refund Policy: PROGRAM FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Fee will be returned/refunded ONLY if a class is cancelled.

IF a class is full, we will contact you, normally within 2 business days (we do our best to remove the class option once it has reached capacity). Otherwise, reminder/confirmation will be sent by email within the week prior to the start date of the class.

WEATHER can be unpredicatable! If it important you have a back up plan in case a class has to be cancelled due to weather. If School is cancelled or students are released early all Spectrum classes are Cancelled for the day.
