Thanks for your interest in volunteering with Kiwi Community Assistance (KCA)!
Volunteers are at the heart of our work that we do as we are currently 100% run by volunteers. As we are located in Grenada North volunteers must have their own transport to get to and from home to us as we are not on a public transport route.
In the past year alone KCA has rescued and distributed over 151 tonnes of quality surplus food plus 4,013 banana boxes of clothing, linen, homewares, school supplies, kids toys etc to those in our community who need it most for free.
Across the Wellington Region, KCA provides stock to 64 community groups – including local schools, soup kitchens, food banks, refuges, homeless support services, childcare centres, mental health support services, youth development organisations, refugee and migrant support services, and boarding houses. It's thanks to our team of dedicated volunteers that we're able to support these organisations in their much-needed work.
Please fill in this form if you're interested in joining our volunteer team. Even if there are no shifts available right now, we really encourage you to apply so that as soon as something becomes available we can get you involved. We communicate via email and texts so it is vital that you do check your emails at least once a day.
Please note that volunteering at KCA may involve lifting heavy boxes (up to 20kg) throughout shifts and working aspart of a team. A reasonable level of health and physical fitness is important, as is the ability to communicate and understand instructions (in English). PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY HAD BACK PROBLEMS.
Finally, we understand that your privacy is important to you. The personal information you provide in this form will only be used for the purposes of managing your volunteering with KCA.
