Investigating Vulnerable Adult Financial Crimes
INSTRUCTOR: Thomas P. Holcomb, Detective Sergeant, Owosso Police Department (retired) and the current Financial Fraud Investigator for PREVNT Elder Justice Initiative for the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan. During his 29 year career, Detective Holcomb has solved numerous elderly abuse cases.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide police personnel with investigative techniques and make them more proficient in the investigation of vulnerable adult financial crimes,. Students will learn how to identify a vulnerable adult, prepare a proper initial police report, obtain necessary financial document, analyze documents and patterns and present a complete and concise investigative report to prosecutors (M.C.O.L.E.S certified.)
