Goldzilla 2018 Signup to Volunteer
Goldzilla, RAGOM's Annual Fundraiser and Walk for Rescue, takes a lot of volunteers to pull off this fun event and we need your help to do it! Please consider volunteering an hour or more in one or more areas and times of your choosing. We will be contacting everyone that signs up to schedule their time and area.

We've noted in each area if you can have your dog with you while you are working. For those areas that allow dogs, please remember that your dog will need to be leashed at all times (with the exception of Agility) and must be well behaved both with humans and other dogs in some cases within tight quarters. We ask this to insure everyone's safety and enjoyment.

The event is on Sunday September 9, 2018 at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton, MN from 8:30am to 2:00pm

There will be onsite food vendors with breakfast options and coffee to get you going in the morning and great lunch items to keep you going all day.

It takes a TREMENDOUS amount of volunteers to make this day happen. The planning team will be working from pre-dawn to past sundown and we cannot cover everything that has to be done during the event. Please help us with an hour or two of your time in one of the areas below to make this the Best Dog Day of the Summer! You will have fun volunteering and will have the rest of the day to enjoy the event!

RAGOM Booths

Raffle Ticket Sales. All slots filled.(Dogs allowed)
Sell Raffle Tickets at the booth or roaming sales.
Silent Auction Booth. All slots filled. (Dogs not allowed)
Answer basic questions about the Silent Auction on-line process and direct people to the check-in area at the front of the Silent Auction area if they need assistance with setting up a bidder profile. Monitor silent auction items on the tables. There will be one position per shift that will be working the "check in " area with the leads helping to set up bidder profiles.
RAGOM Information Booth. Filled - no remaining openings. You need to be a RAGOM Volunteer. (Dogs allowed).
Answer questions about the organization, how to get involved, activities of the day. Hand out free stuff.
RAGOM Ambassadors & Reunions Booth. Filled - no remaining openings. You need to be a RAGOM Volunteer. (Dogs allowed)
Assist with handing out vests and dog bandanas to Ambassadors in the morning, giving them their assignment and collecting their vests in the afternoon. Provide information on how to connect with dogs from same rescue efforts or littermates during the Reunion times. Help people to get a name tag and have them log in during each Reunion.
Foster Showcase Tent. Filled - no remaining openings. (Dogs allowed)
Check in the Fosters to the showcase, invite attendees in to come meet the dogs, answer questions. Help organize the Foster Showcase Parade.
Foster Fan Board & Memorial Board - Filled - no remaining openings. (Dogs allowed)
We need volunteers to give Foster Fan Board stickers to a supporter once they have purchased a voucher from the merchandise tent. They will also give the supporter a piece of paper so they can write a note to the foster dog they are supporting for the website, if they wish. Will be using a hand held card reader for purchases done in the booth. You will also be helping people to place a picture of their dogs with a note on the Memorial Board to honor those who crossed the bridge and will be with us in spirit at Goldzilla.
Merchandise Tent - Filled - no remaining openings.(Dogs not allowed)
Various duties including selling and organizing merchandise, assisting customers. Helping to monitor merchandise, help people find the right size, keeping the merchandise stocked and helping the cashier with the bagging of merchandise. You will not be running a cash register.

Unload and Setup at Long Lake on Sunday. Need 5 people. 2 hour shift. 6:30am-8:30am or until set up completed (Dogs not allowed)
Unload truck, set up tents and tables, fencing for activity areas: lure course setup, agility, off-leash play, vendor village assistance.
Teardown and Load Truck. Need 10 people. 2:00pm-3:30pm (Dogs not allowed)
Pick up booths, take down tents, fencing, activity areas and loading truck.
Vendor Assistance. Filled - No remaining openings (Dogs not allowed)
Help check in vendors, provide direction and get them to their assigned spot in the morning and answer their questions. They will be unloading at the village and then be required to move their vehicles to a parking lot.
Activities
Your dog can help you with these areas too!
Lure Course Assistant. Need 2 people. Shifts available from 11:30 - 12:30 or 12:30 - 2:00. (Dogs allowed)
Manage the gate to help transition the dogs quickly, collect vouchers. We have a professional Lure Course provider running the machine.
Agility Area. Filled - no remaining openings. (Dogs allowed).
Assist participants with their dogs working through the various elements using treats. Manage the area so it does not get overcrowded.
