Field Rules –
•
Do not enter fields or congregate around the dugouts while HS players are practicing. Rec/Travel practice can begin when HS players are completely finished/out of the dugouts and will need to end at your scheduled time.
•
No metal cleats on the turf fields for practice. Plastic cleats, turf or tennis shoes per USD 248.
•
If any staff are performing field maintenance, please move off the fields or to another part to allow them to finish.
•
Pitching mounds – Field 5 is set DO NOT MOVE and Field 1 is by dugout.
•
No sunflower seeds on fields 1 and 4 including the dugouts and bleachers.
•
The ball fields are owned by USD 248 and as a result, they receive priority over rec and travel teams. If high school teams show up for practice during your scheduled practice time, your team will be asked to leave.
•
If the field is chalked or games are scheduled, please stay off the fields.
•
If field crews is ready to chalk fields for games, you will need to leave the infield so they can complete their work.
•
Please remain off fields when they are too wet. If you can see your tracks, it’s too wet.
•
Please check the practice calendar to see if a date/time is available before requesting a practice time.
•
Field scheduling will start after the draft for rec teams.
•
Scheduling will be done on a month-to-month basis.
•
Girard Youth league teams may begin scheduling on the 20th of each month, for the following month on a first come, first served basis.
•
Travel teams may schedule the 25th of each month.
• Same rules apply to ballpark as the activity center for number of Girard players for field use.
