Volunteering at KIDS, BUGS, ART
Kids, Bugs, Art is a series of four events (three public, one for enrolled children) during the Boston Area City Nature Challenge (April 27-30). Each event will incorporate 1) an animal "inventory" utilizing the iNaturalist citizen science platform as well as 2) a puppet-making or mask-making activity or children, focusing on certain local invertebrate species.

Who We Are
Kids, Bugs, Art is presented by the Cambridge Wildlife Puppetry Project (CWPP) in collaboration with Green Cambridge and other partners, with additional support from the Cambridge Arts Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

The purpose of the Kids, Bugs, Art sessions is to create fun opportunities for Cambridge kids and families to participate in the City Nature Challenge. We want to enable local schoolchildren to explore animal and plant biodiversity through participating in the City Nature Challenge citizen science project using iNaturalist with their families.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS are for the Danehy Park event Sunday, April 29th. We very much need you for this event, especially welcomers, art guides, and citizen science guides.
You can help kids gain access to nature as participants in citizen science by helping out at this event. You'll also be a part of making environmental education come alive through art. Hands-on art that takes place outdoors is pretty rare—thanks for helping to expand these opportunities for families in Cambridge!
