Many of the incredible Jewish clergy in our Rabbis for Repro network have expressed a desire for pastoral training to better support those making decisions around pregnancy, including those seeking abortion. We are excited to offer this opportunity for two cohorts of Jewish clergy. Please complete this application to participate in this four-part training series (dates below). The application will close on September 6 and we will notify participants mid-September.
Who Should Participate
This series is available to Jewish clergy for Repro looking to apply their pastoral work to working with people to navigate pregnancy options and pregnancy endings. There are 25 spots available in each cohort for this series, so if we are unable to offer you a spot at this time, we will look to include you in a subsequent training series.
About the Training Series
This series will be shaped to support you specifically as Jewish clergy. At the end of the training series, participants will be able to:
- Identify and navigate personal values and beliefs concerning pregnancy options and decisions, in order to provide unbiased support for each pregnant person’s experience
- Describe key elements of adoption, abortion, and parenting in an informed, honest and non-judgmental manner
- Apply respectful, unbiased, and nonjudgmental counseling techniques in a pregnancy options counseling session
- Support people in accessing high quality referrals
- Apply pastoral skills to helping people navigate pregnancy options and decisions
- Offer pastoral care around pregnancy options within a Jewish framework
There is no cost for participating clergy as NCJW is fully subsidizing the program for your participation. (Please consider making a donation to the
the Jewish Fund for Abortion Access.)
The first and second session of each cohort will be led by our partners at
All Options and the third session will be led by NCJW.
