Texas Hunters for the Hungry - Processors Agreement
Please complete the brief form below to participate as a Hunters for the Hungry meat processor through May 2017.
1. We will process venison only collected from white tail and mule deer deemed safe to be used as human food. We will not process venison from carcasses delivered to us in less than satisfactory condition. If the carcass is contaminated with foreign material, such as leaves, twigs, dirt, excessive hair, feces or intestinal contents, or is in any way not in good condition, we will not process the meat for the Hunters for the Hungry program.
Required
2. We will accept venison from hunters bringing legally harvested and tagged deer to our facility. The hunters will pay a reduced fee for meat processing ($45 per deer is recommended for 2016-2017. Please specify the reduced fee if different than $45).
Required
3. We can accept partial donations and determine a fair reduced processing price at our discretion if a hunter wishes to donate only part of the deer.
Required
4. We will provide the hunter with a receipt for the donation.
Required
5. We will remove meat from donated carcasses, grind it, and package it in Hunters for the Hungry packaging (chub packs or freezer labels).
Required
6. We will attach further labeling indicating any additives to the venison.
Required
7. We agree to freeze the ground venison and contact a local food bank or food assistance provider named by Feeding Texas for pick-up.
Required
8. We agree to participate for the entire deer-hunting season. If we are unable to participate for the entirety of the season we agree to notify Krista Cole at 512-527-3613.
