Big City Diner in Windward Mall shockingly announced their closing a short time ago.
Big City Diner is right next to the busiest entrance of Windward Mall (Food Court Entrance)
We have been tasked with breaking up this restaurant space and making 10 rentable popup slots for the busiest time of the year.. 6 weeks. November 16 to December 31st. This includes Black Friday and goes all the way to NYE.
These 10 spaces are all 10x10 and some larger with 1 that includes all the bar top counters of BCD.
The Big City Diner signs will come down.
It will become - The Gift District
What is included
10x10 space or more
9 spaces + 1 space that has large bar counter frontage.
- (2) 6ft tables
- The space has its own restroom
- own mall entrance and an interior entrance
- The collection of these 10 vendors will have a name of its own & promoted by the mall and Krave to some extent.
- There will be one lockable banquet room that will be a shared security / stock room opened every morning before start time and locked at start time. Opened again at the end of shift and locked when the last person leaves. This would be designed for securing things nightly or restocking in the morning.. Not a room that can be accessed by anyone at any time.
Cost
$700/ week x 6 weeks. = $4200. with a couple extra days thrown in there.
The question that is going to be asked is if we can break it up and pick and choose weeks.. The answer is not right now. We'll take the first 10 people that want to commit to it all first.
In fact, the order of buy-in determines the booth choice
We asked our member vendors first, we have 2 or 3 ready to commit.
Benefits
You get to be in one of the most popular parts of the mall.
You get to benefit from close proximity to farmers markets and weekly center stage events.
You get to sample mall storefront life during the busiest time of the year without a long lease, utility payments, or CAM
You have a perfect holiday pickup and dropoff location
Expectations
Each business will be expected to open daily and for the most part adhere to mall hours. There will be some leeway for occasional late openings (will define later) and there is some flex early close times (will have to check with the mall)
We will collect a $500 deposit prior to start. A complete daily no show will be fine $125. After the 4th no show we would reserve the right to remove / replace the business with no reimbursement of any kind.
This basically means, if you don't have the manpower for it.. you probably shouldn't buy in.
Some vendors have asked if they can share or swap days with vendor friends. We are considering this, but will take vendors who can commit all the way through, FIRST.
LAST THING. MALL WILL REVIEW THOSE INTERESTED. THEY DO HAVE THE LAST SAY IN TENANT ACCEPTANCE.
