Please submit your nomination for the Metro D.C. DSA Steering Committee election here. Your information will be verified by the chapter's Internal Elections Facilitation Department to ensure that you are a chapter member in good standing.
Nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021. Any chapter member in good standing who receives five nominations will be notified and will have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 to accept their nomination. Candidates who accept their nomination will have the opportunity to share personal statements and answer questions from chapter members, including in an online Candidates Forum on Monday, December 6th from 7:00–9:00pm.
An OpaVote ballot will be sent to all chapter members in good standing, and the winner will be determined by approval voting. Voting in this election will start on Monday, December 13th and will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, December 17th, 2021. The new Steering Committee term will begin upon the announcement of results in this election, which will likely occur on Saturday, December 18th, 2021.
You are allowed to submit as many nominations as you like, but you cannot submit multiple nominations for the same nominee (any duplicate submissions will not be counted toward the five-nomination threshold). You are allowed to self-nominate.
