Get Cereal Season 2 runs from Monday April 16 to Sunday July 15 (13 weeks)
We are looking for Hosts, Producers, Contributors and Newsreaders who have a passion for getting up early and being entertaining on air!
Are you enthusiastic? Kinda funny? Passionate and creative? Then Get Cereal is just for YOU!
Requirements for the job.. You must be: - A paid SYN Member - Radio trained (in the new studios)- Free from 6am till 9am every week for your chosen day (contributors and newsreaders negotiable).- Available for your individual team meetings and big GC meetings. This is compulsory.- Be able to work with a range of people.- Produce amazing content for your show!- Have (minimal) experience with audio editing.
There are multiple roles that can be taken on with Get Cereal.
Off Air Talent - Producers:
Get Cereal's producers are the off-air talent of the operation. Producers take charge of the daily running of a morning. They help with the Interviews, prepare the run-sheet, organise segments, upload show material (content lists, podcasts and playlists), liveblog on social-media, act as a team psychologist/morale booster and generally give constant feedback to the presenters. The producer role requires 1 show of work per week, with podcasting and preparation on the side. Producers pretty much over see their day's team!
On Air Talent - Presenters:
Get Cereal’s presenters are the on-air talent of the operation. In Season 1, Get Cereal will be running groups of 2-3 presenters on each of our 6 mornings (Mon-Sat). The presenter role involves creating content, running the show, interviewing people and generally being awesome when put in front of a mic.
On Air Talent - Contributors:
Contributors come up with a cool content idea and run it once a week with the presenters, live on air, pre-recorded with the presenters or over the phone! Have another show at SYN you want to plug? Or want to get involved in Get Cereal without the commitment of putting together a 3 hour show? Contributing is perfect for you!
On Air Talent - Newsreaders:
Newsreaders will be put in contact with Chester Ngan, the Radio News EP. You'll get to put journalism, social media and news ethics skills into practice as part of Melbourne's youngest newsroom! Chester is contactable at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fill out the questions below and we'll get back to you soon.
