Chicago Uptown Mosaic Project Camp
The 2018 Chicago Uptown Mosaic Project Camp will take place on Monday, July 16th & Tuesday, July 17th from 9am-3p at 4956 N. Sheridan. There will be a celebration ceremony on Friday, July 20th.
Bobby Oommen, MS Computer Science teacher @ Latin School of Chicago and Steve Tow, Technology teacher @ Goudy Elementary will be the main camp counselors. THERE IS NO COST TO THIS CAMP.
Campers will spend two days designing a mosaic using 3D printers, wood & laser cutters, and vinyl cutters with a partner The resulting mosaic will be submitted to the Alderman's office as a gift. This is an incredible opportunity to design and build for Uptown!
Here are some details to note:
** Campers MUST BE ENTERING 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade
** Campers will be provided laptops and other materials in order to complete the camp.
** Campers will be given lunch on Monday, 7.16 and Tuesday, 7.17
** Campers must arrive on time and be picked up on time. Camp begins at 9am and ends at 3p. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the camp. Any special circumstances can be emailed to the camp counselor, Bobby Oommen (
** Campers are not allowed to use their phones or other electronic equipment during the course of the camp, unless for emergencies
** REGISTRATION DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE CONFIRMED. Once you have registered, you will receive email confirmation that your place is secured. NO STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO REGISTER ON THE DAY OF THE CAMP, OR JUST SHOW UP. YOU MUST RECEIVE CONFIRMATION TO COME TO THE CAMP.
** Confirmed campers will be required to sign a waiver agreement.
