IAB SA EDUCATION COUNCIL
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Deadline: 20 March 2023
IAB SA Education Council Calls for Nominations of New Council Members
The IAB South Africa calls on members to nominate their industry peers for a seat on the
IAB SA Education Council. Chaired by
Su Little, Head of Online & Corporate Education at Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, the Education Council is tasked with galvanising the industry to support the development of industry-specific occupational qualifications that meet the ever-growing and evolving industry needs and skills gap areas, while ensuring diversity and inclusion at every level.
"The Education Council aims to accelerate skills development in the industry by creating access and value within the IAB network. Our prerogative includes facilitating the training and up-skilling of young black creatives in the digital marketing industry so that they can participate and contribute to the digital economy. We’re looking for members who understand the need for industry diversity and inclusion, mentorship of young talent, alongside skills development in emerging innovative technologies, and who care enough about the future of the industry to partake in addressing these needs proactively and productively,” says Little.
2023 is set to be an exciting year for the Education Council with numerous projects in the pipeline. These include:
- IAB SA Insights Series: Engaging industry leaders to weigh in and address the future of advertising, not only in terms of the growing interest in AI but what this means for skills development at both graduate and professional levels. We need to better understand and prepare for these ongoing developments in technology that are perceived to impact our human resources both now and in the future.
- Launch of IAB SA Transformation Network: This project aims to develop a 'feeder' network amongst members that looks at nurturing emerging talent at a scholarly level, through training institutions offering bursaries and learnerships, that ultimately feed directly into member graduate and intern programmes. Collaborating with the IAB Youth Action and Transformation Councils to facilitate key mentorship programmes, at all stages of the network is a key requirement for the success of this venture.
- IAB SA Front Row: In partnership with the IAB Youth Action and Transformation Councils, identifying and supporting 10 top talent graduates or current students, with access to key industry events and opportunities to catapult their careers.
- IAB SA Workplace Readiness Programme: Developing content and training programmes to better prepare graduates entering the workforce, in order to equip them to survive their initial few months in the real world.
The Council seats will be reflective of the IAB SA Education objectives, as well as a representative of the IAB SA membership including Agencies, Publishers, Brands, Media, Platforms, Specialists and Education company seats that can contribute towards the proposed projects for 2023.
The IAB SA is accepting nominations until 20 March 2023, and members will be announced at the end of March.
You can go ahead and access the nomination form below. You will be contacted if you were successful.
Many thanks
