MAP Application with Professor Eikmeier
Please fill out the following questions completely. Due Date: February 21 at 11:59 pm Central Time.

Particular answers to questions will not automatically disqualify you from working with me. Instead, they give me a better sense of your strengths, and to which type of project you are best suited.

Include everything, even if you think I already know this information about you, I know many students.

In research, we often struggle and get stuck. Describe what you will do when you are struggling. How do you overcome obstacles? *
Your answer
Before starting research, I will ask students to sign an "agreement". The purpose of this document is to clearly set expectations for the summer. For example, I might state: "You are expected to be in the office between the hours of 9am - 5pm, unless otherwise arranged". I am very open to your input concerning the exact contents of this agreement, because I want the summer to be productive. Give two more suggestions for what you think might go on this agreement. *
Your answer
What do you think you'll like about research? What do you think you won't like about research? (Note: If you've done research before, you can use your experience to answer this question.) *
Your answer
If selected, would you consider continuing your research with me into the fall semester? *
Do you have a personal laptop you can use during the summer? (Note: This WILL NOT in anyway affect whether you are chosen. We have access to MathLAN machines in my research lab. This is simply a logistical question.) *
Do you want to comment on any of your answers from previous questions?
Your answer
Is there anything else I should know about you?
