OPEN NETWORKING SESSION WITH AMERICAN PROGRAM DIRECTOR JOSH JACKSON
What is the current status of Danish and Nordic jazz in the U.S.? Join us for a networking session for musicians, managers, record labels, and concert organizers interested in Danish jazz connections to the U.S. and the status of jazz, especially jazz in the media, on the American East Coast in 2024.
In 2022, JazzDanmark released the podcast Dangerous Sounds, hosted by Joan as Police Woman and Kresten Osgood. This 8-episode podcast is an adaptation of the Danish DR podcast Farlige Toner [LINK], which was a success with both listeners and award juries in 2021. The NPR-affiliated radio station WRTI broadcast the podcast in the U.S., and their program director Josh Jackson is now visiting Copenhagen during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2024.
In a one-hour conversation between Josh Jackson and Kresten Osgood, they will delve deep into the current state of the jazz scene in the U.S. We'll look at the status of Danish and Nordic jazz in the U.S. and examine current and future Danish-American jazz relations. After the networking event, JazzDanmark will host an open jazz bar and housewarming, where you're welcome to stay for a drink.
Time: July 10, 1-2 PM, followed by the jazz bar from 2-4 PM.
Location: JazzDanmark office, Frederiksberg Allé 17, 1820 Frederiksberg C.
Note: The conversation will be held in English.
