I am voluntarily entering into The Summer Mentorship program. To minimize the possibility of confusion, I and the organization I represent have agreed to the following:

Mentors will observe all federal and state regulations regarding pay and break times as well as provide a safe and hazard-free work environment. All relevant safety training must be provided by the employer.

Provide students with a clear and consistent schedule taking into account their mandatory NVC course (once a week) and other dates provided on the course schedule.

Mentors will offer guidance around paystubs and how to access timesheets. Timesheets will be signed and submitted to megan@nvef.org via email or carbon copy during class time at the end of each pay period. Employers must explain pay periods and relevant platforms. Mentees must be paid at least minimum wage for all hours worked. We suggest 20-30 hours per week.

On site staff will be notified when working with Mentees to ensure shared understanding of program values across teams and departments. Mentees will have contact information for all relevant staff including but not limited to; Human Resources, direct supervisors, etc.

Mentors will provide regular feedback and guidance to mentees in structured meeting time at least three times during the program’s 7 week duration. During this time, Mentors will share industry knowledge and general advice to support student’s overall development.The Mentor agrees to be honest and provide constructive feedback while sharing insight on their own experiences as well.
