Indianapolis Sustainability Awards Nomination 2018
The Indianapolis Sustainability Awards are designed to inspire innovation, showcase impact, reward leadership and promote education around the principles of sustainability. Five awards will be given, four to highlight transformative work by a business, institution, nonprofit, and individual that integrates the three pillars of sustainability (social, economic, and environmental responsibility) into their work, and one to highlight the individual, organization, or business that undertook an exceptional effort to improve local air quality (The Knozone Clean Air Award).

Any organization or individual is encouraged to submit a nomination (self-nominations welcome).

Applicant must demonstrate work was completed in Marion County between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.

Each award winner will be honored at the Indianapolis Sustainability Summit Luncheon on March 28th 2018 at IUPUI's Campus Center.

Why should they receive the award? Descriptions are encouraged to include the following, as relevant: A brief overview of the organization including its purpose and function; How the org/person embodies the sustainability pillars (social, economic and environmental); Highlights how the nominee demonstrated leadership in sustainability; How the nominee and their work was transformative, innovative, educational and/or impactful. The Knozone Clean Air Award recognizes the individual, organization, or business that undertook an exceptional effort to improve local air quality. Through any combination of measures such as fleet improvements, energy efficiency, recycling, renewables and employees use of alternative modes of transportation (walking, biking, transit, carpooling), etc. The reductions have to be quantifiable, lasting, not mandated by state or federal regulatory requirements and occurred within the past 3 years.
