Code of Conduct:
The University of Minnesota has a standard of student conduct that applies to all members of the Sport Clubs Program regardless of student status. The Sport Clubs Program has a higher standard of conduct for all clubs beyond the general University policy. Students in the Sport Clubs Program assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the University’s function as an educational institution. When members participate in an event or club activity, they accept the responsibility of representing the University in a way that will not detract from the reputation of the institution or disobey any University, Department of Recreational Sports, or Sport Clubs Program policy. All club members, coaches, and instructors will conduct themselves ethically and will display sportsmanship before, during and after an event.

Club members, coaches, and instructors shall not:
-Consume alcohol or use illegal drugs while serving as a representative of their club and of their institution.
-Strike, attempt to strike, or abuse an official, spectator or coach out of the context of the sport.
-Strike or attempt to strike an opposing player, beyond the realm of the sport.
-Intentionally engage in or incite participants and/or spectators to engage in abusive or violent behavior.
-Use obscene gestures, profanity, or disrespectful language.
-Violate any University, tournament, host institution, or Sport Clubs Program rules.

Violation of these standards will result in disciplinary action by the Sport Clubs Program and/or the Sport Clubs Advisory Council.
