Thank you for taking the time to apply for the counselor/staff positions for 2017 Taiwanese American Citizen's League (TACL) Leadership Identity Development LID) camp.
Counseling/Staffing is more than bringing your campers to the next activity on time— we're looking for candidates who want their campers to not only have fun, but also experience camp and making lasting memories.
As a counselor/staff member, you will serve as a role model, friend, and source of guidance for campers ranging from 6th to 12th grade. You will be joining a team dedicated to giving back to the Taiwanese American community by fostering leadership skills and instilling confidence in the youth.
In order to build this ultimate experience, most of LID camp's activities are conceptualized from our own counselors and staff through monthly meetings around Southern California. In addition to brainstorming programs for campers, we'll also provide training. Because of camp expenses, we ask our members to pay a fee of $100 for housing and food at our last meeting before camp. This amount can be waived throughout the course of summer by bringing 2 kids in, helping camp fundraise enough to waive the fees for all counselors/staff, or other events we have throughout the summer. If the fee is an issue, please don't let it stop you from doing camp. Please email us about it and we can try and help you fundraise the amount.
We do expect our counselors to be committed, and attending these meetings is a huge factor in building a cohesive and successful team to put on camp! You should strive to make every meeting, but we do understand if you have other commitments and ask that you communicate with us.
