2025-2026 Student Audition Form for North Georgia Youth Winds
Students: Please complete this form and attach a video recording of your audition for our Second season.  
First Round Audition Videos and Director Nominations can be submitted beginning Tuesday, April 15th and due Thursday, May 15th at 11:59pm. If you are a homeschooled student, you can have your private lesson teacher or another teacher that is not a parent complete this form.  The link for the Director Nominations is Here. It is the student's responsibility to make sure their director completes the nomination form.

If you are planning on auditioning on multiple instruments you will need to submit a video for each instrument.

Please make sure you say your full name, upcoming grade level/school, and instrument before you play.  (example: Hi, I'm John Doe in the 11th grade at Millwood High School and I will be auditioning on French Horn)

  • For Wind Players: 

    • Any four Major Scales, any tempo and rhythm

    • The Chromatic Scale Please note: Both the four major scales and chromatic scales can be played at any tempo.

    • Band Director Recommendation (Google Form)

  • For Percussion Players:

    • SNARE DRUM:

      • Four rudiments of your choice (open-close-open)

      • Bounce/Buzz Roll for 16 counts, metronome Quarter note = 72

    • TIMPANI:

      • Tuning of timpani.  Show timpani with pedals down, then show tuning to the following notes: G(32in), B-Flat(29in), D(26in), F(23in).

      • Forte Piano Roll for 16 counts, metronome Quarter note = 72

      • Slow – Fast – Slow Single Roll for 16 counts, metronome Quarter note = 72

    • MALLETS:

      • Any four Major Scales, any tempo and rhythm

      • Forte Piano Roll for 16 counts, metronome Quarter note = 72

      • Slow – Fast – Slow Single Roll for 16 counts, metronome Quarter note = 72

You will need to upload your audition as one video onto a YouTube channel and submit the link. We recommend keeping the video as "Unlisted" under privacy.
