Service Opportunities
All of Redeemer's planned Shine service projects are listed below.  Look through all of the service opportunities below, and mark the events in which you plan to participate.  You will receive more information from a project coordinator for the projects where you plan to serve.  Please sign up as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday, April 7th so that we can make preparations.  Also, note that some projects are limited in the number of people who can serve, and slots may fill up quickly.
Nixa Community Work Day
Saturday, April 13 - 8:30am-1pm
Join volunteers from many different Nixa congregations to help beautify Rotary Park in Nixa.  Meet at Aldersgate church in Nixa at 8:30am for devotions.  We will then work all morning, and re-convene at Redeemer Nixa for a fellowship lunch.

Families and all ages welcome, as long as all children are accompanied by an adult.

Nixa Campus Community Garden

Tuesday, April 16 - 6-8pm

We will be getting community garden beds ready for planting at Redeemer’s Nixa campus. Crops harvested from these gardens are eventually donated to Least of These or to others in need.

Families and all ages welcome, as long as all children are accompanied by an adult.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore THIS EVENT IS FULL
Wednesday, April 17 – 12:30-3:30pm

The Habitat ReStore accepts donations of household items and building supplies and sells them to the public. Proceeds go to help build Habitat for Humanity homes for people in need.  Volunteers at the ReStore perform lots of different tasks, including accepting and processing donations, general cleaning, working at the checkout and customer service. Weather permitting, we might be helping clean up the store’s yard. 

Volunteers must arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled shift for orientation. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.  This project is limited to 10 volunteers.

Nixa Roadside Cleanup
Saturday, April 20 - 9am-11am

Help us pick up trash along Highway 14 in Nixa in order to help beautify our community. Meet us at the Nixa campus. 

Must be at least 10 years old with adult supervision to participate. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Walking long distances and bending to pick up trash will be necessary.

Lutheran Student Center House Work Day
Saturday, April 20th - 9am-Noon

Help us make the Lutheran Student Center house a more comfortable and inviting place to live for the college students who call the place home and gather there.  Projects will include some power washing and landscaping tasks.

Volunteers must be high school age and up.

We would like as many SHINE participants as possible to wear 2024 SHINE T-Shirts as they serve.  These are free to all who serve.  How many shirts of the following sizes do you need for those who will be serving. 

Quantities are limited, and will be given away on a first-registered, first served basis.
