Granton Scouts Skills Signup
Teamwork is at the heart of Scouting, we build it in young people, and it takes teams of adults to make it happen.

This year we are planning on having absolutely loads of fun and to make it one of our best years ever!

To make the most of all the opportunities in the Group we want as many children and parents as possible to take part.

If you can help the group, please let us know how you could support our events and camps, or maintain our kit and building, by ticking some of the boxes below

(By the way - none of these roles are paid!! They are all voluntary in the same way as Leaders are volunteers).

A note on Safeguarding
We take the safeguarding of all our members seriously, and some of the volunteer roles below may require you to apply for a PVG (Protection of Vulnerable People) certificate.

Roles marked with "**" NEED PVG and roles marked "*" don't NEED, but we would prefer you to be PVG cleared.

Speak to Chas for any more information about this.

Right - here we go........tick as many as you can!

4. ACTIVE SUPPORT UNIT (ASU)
Scout Active Support Units allow people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis.

People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader. The ASU basically exists to carry out the tasks that are listed above.

We have been looking at starting an active support unit over the past year and have gradually been building up interest in it. We would like to sign up as many parents and friends as possible to join the ASU, so if you would be interested please tick the box below.

We aim to start it once we have enough names, and can find a suitable ASU Manager

For more information about what Scouts do, and what makes us tick, see https://scouts.org.uk/what-we-do/

5. ANYTHING ELSE?
Let us know here if there's any other way that you could offer help to the Group.

6. KEEPING IN TOUCH
We'd like to create a Whatsapp group for everyone that has offered to support the leaders in working with young people. It's the easiest way to put out an appeal for help.
