SER-UW Native Plant Nursery Work Parties RSVP
Thank you for choosing to volunteer with the Society for Ecological Restoration- UW Chapter! Come learn about native plant propagation and production at our student-run nursery. Every Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM we will be hosting a work party where you can participate in a variety of nursery tasks including sowing seeds, up-potting plants, working on outdoor restoration projects, and more! Please meet at the Douglas Research Conservatory (DRC) at the Center for Urban Horticulture.

Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. Gloves, tools, and snacks are provided for all volunteers! For more information, please check out our Instagram and our Facebook page:

Where: UW Native Plant Nursery Hoop House at Center for Urban Horticulture 3501 NE 41st St, Seattle
Go to the back of the Douglas Research Conservatory (DRC) and through the gate. Our hoop house is the third and largest one in the back.

Dress to get dirty, and don’t forget your water bottle!

Society for Ecological Restoration UW Student Guild (SER) VOLUNTEER PROGRAM WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT
This is a waiver and release of liability, please read carefully before signing.
I agree to assume all risks of loss and injury that may arise out of my participation and I agree to waive any and all claims against SER and all parties described below. I hereby release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless SER, its partner, collaborating agencies and organizations involved in this project, the participants in this project and their respective agents, representatives, officers, employees, assigns and insurers, hereinafter referred to as the “released parties”, from any and all liability, claims, demands or actions or causes of action whatsoever, arising out of damage, loss of injury to my person or property, whether anticipated or unanticipated, while participating in any activities contemplated by this agreement, whether such damages, loss or injury result from negligence of the Released Parties, their respective agents, officers, employees, successors, assigns and insurers or from some other cause. This release and agreement shall be binding upon me, my heirs, successors, assigns, administrators and executors. I have read and understand the project description and the duties that will be expected of me related to the project.
I realize that working on this project may involve risks and hazards, which may include, but are not limited to
1) the use of tools and other equipment,
2) working around other participants who may not be accustomed to this type of labor or the tools and equipment associated with it.
I am aware that these risks and other hazards are inherent in participation in this project and hereby assume sole responsibility for all such risks and hazard. I agree to conduct myself in a safe and courteous manner and to accept supervision from SER members. I understand that if I fail to do so my permission to participate in the project may be retracted.
I hereby grant permission to SER to use my photograph on its World Wide Web site or in other SER related printed publications without further consideration. I acknowledge SER’s right to crop or treat the photograph at its discretion. I also acknowledge that SER may choose not to use my photo at this time, but may do so at its own discretion at a later date. I also understand that once my image is posted on SER’s website, the image may be downloaded by any computer user. Therefore, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless SER from any claims.
I hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the foregoing waiver and release agreement.
