Chocolate, Cooperatives & Culture of Trinidad Tour Interest Form
Collective Diaspora in collaboration with the Alliance of Rural Communities invite you to join us in Trinidad from Feb 27 to Mar 4th 2026 for a six-day educational tour and cultural exchange focused on the rich history and African traditions present in Trinidadian culture, the power and promise of Trinidad's cooperatives and growing solidarity economy, the beauty of Trinidad's biodiversity, and the deliciousness and complexities of chocolate making, cocoa production and efforts to decolonize the chocolate industry.

Travel with others growing the Black solidarity economy across the African diaspora. 

We will be visiting local cocoa farms and artisanal chocolate processing facilities, Steel Pan Panyard cooperatives, credit unions, the Cipriani College of Labour & Cooperative Studies, community third spaces, natural areas in mountain, oceanfront and wetland communities, and cultural events.

PRICE: $2,500 / Collective Diaspora Members: $2,250 

EARLY BIRD PRICE (If paid in full by Jan 9, 2026): $2,250 

DEPOSIT AMOUNT & PAYMENT SCHEDULE: An initial deposit of $500 is due Jan 9, 2026. The remaining cost will be split into 2 equal payments of $1,000 due Jan 15th and Feb 5th.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: food (breakfast, lunch, dinner), in-country transportation, housing, and fees for all group activities/entrance fees. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: tours of cooperative cocoa farm and chocolate processing facility, steel pan Panyard cooperative, Cipriani College of Labour & Co-operative Studies, cooperative third space cafe, tropical rainforest hike and wetland boat tours, botanical gardens, and beach time.

Participants are responsible for their own travel costs to and from your home city to Port of Spain (Piarco International Airport), Trinidad, estimated at $300 to $600. All arrivals and departures should occur during the first and last day of the tour (Feb 27th and Mar 4th) which are reserved for travel days. We will be in direct communication with those requiring a shorter stay.   

PASSPORT & VISA REQUIREMENTS: US citizens, as well as those of Canada, European Union member countries, and the following countries do not require a visa for entry on Vacation or Business for a period up to ninety (90) days. You will need a valid passport that will not expire for at least six months after the departure date.

HOUSING: We will be the exclusive guests at a charming Trini-owned guest house complete with outdoor swimming pool and high speed wifi. Price is based on double rooms. Those requiring single rooms or other special accommodations may be included at additional expense.
