It is important that people are aware of the dangers and ensure they use new technologies in a way which will keep them safe, without limiting their opportunities.
Some of the dangers they may face include:
Access to illegal, harmful or inappropriate images or other content Unauthorised access to / loss of / sharing of personal information The risk of being subject to grooming by those with whom they make contact on the internet. The sharing / distribution of personal images without an individual’s consent or knowledge Inappropriate communication / contact with others, including strangers Cyber-bullying Access to unsuitable video / internet games An inability to evaluate the quality, accuracy and relevance of information on the internet
Outcomes: By the end of the session you will be able to understand:> The rules to follow to keep safe online.> Support children/young people & Staff/Volunteers to stay safe online. > Know who to report concerns about E safety. > How to create an E Safe environment within the organisation> Access to policy template on E Safety
This will be an interactive learning experience, where discussions and exercises to establish a better understanding of E Safety.
