Minimum Standards
Oxfordshire Youth supports youth groups and organisations who work with young people in a safe, effective and sustainable manner. To ensure that we are able to meet this aim, we uphold the following standards of membership.

To be a member your group or organisation should;
o accept the aim of Oxfordshire Youth
o be working with young people in Oxfordshire aged 8 - 25
o have appropriate policies and risk assessment procedures in place (below)
o be in agreement with the Equal Opportunities Statement of Oxfordshire Youth
o have a constitution or governing document
o have a dedicated bank account
o have a management committee/trustee board

At least two volunteers/members of staff per session with young people must have a valid First Aid qualification.
All volunteers/staff should be trained in safeguarding and this should be updated every 3 years.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks
All staff/volunteers undertaking regular, unsupervised activity with the group must obtain an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service prior to commencing work with the group – these should be renewed every 2 years unless registered with the update service.
Please confirm that all of your committee members, volunteers and paid staff requiring appropriate DBS checks have been adequately checked and their certificates have been seen by a senior manager or senior committee member.
Adequate Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance
