After successfully flipping the 49th Congressional District in 2018, our Campaign has led the community in fighting tooth and nail to hold this seat for Mike and the House Democrats. We expect another major battle for 2026, which is the reason that we are reaching out to students for our Campaign Intern Program. This program is one of the primary vehicles through which we train and deploy the next generation of Democratic organizers and leaders to win elections.

About our Intern Program: For high school and college students (16 years and above). Based from our Carlsbad campaign office, this program is flexible and involves a minimum 10-hours of in-person support, per week. The program initiates with a period of training & certification, and is complete at 100-hours. Interns primarily provide support in-person through direct voter outreach with local constituents, and may also participate in volunteer recruitment, event support/attendance, and other aspects of political campaigning. We are accepting rolling applications through the General Election in 2026.

Benefits: This program has profoundly positive impacts for Interns by providing significant and professional political campaign experiences. These experiences result in significant volunteer hours and valuable résumé-building proficiencies with one of the most competitive House races in the nation.
