Trail Maintenance: volunteer activities in this category include clearing branches from trails; building boardwalks or bridges; helping with erosion issues. Expectations: If volunteering to help with any of these duties, please come dressed appropriately as you will be outside. Please bring work gloves if you have them.

Environmental Education - Teacher Assistant: a teacher assistant helps our Education Staff teach school groups (weekdays) and Scout Groups and/or Public Programs (weekends) and Summer Camps (weekdays June through August). Topics include hibernation, macroinvertebrates, trees, Baird Creek ecosystems and more. Knowledge of the Baird Creek Greenway and a background in teaching is helpful, but not mandatory. New assistants are asked to fill out paperwork, and agree to a background check.

Land Conservation: volunteer activities in this category may include: pulling or cutting and treating invasive species, planting native species, seed collection and dispersal. If volunteering to help with any of these duties, please come dressed to be outside in the elements and bring work gloves if you have them.

Special Events: volunteer activities in this category may include: event coordination, fundraising, and promotion, help with pre-event preparation, assistance the day of the event. Expectations: some of our events include volunteer committees to help organize and promote the event. If you are helping with pre-event preparations and/or assistance the day of the event, please dress for the weather. Most of our events occur outdoors.
